The Mobile Arts Mobile Location Centre (MLC) supports both 3GPP LCS and OMA SUPL Assisted GNSS location methods. “Assisted” means that the MLC provides satellite data to the mobile device over the mobile network, which dramatically improves the “time-to-fix” and increases the GNSS signal sensitivity of the device.
When we deploy an MLC System locally in a mobile network, we can provide the MLC with the necessary GNSS reference data by also deploying dedicated, physical GNSS reference receivers (sourced from our partner Leica Geosystems) in the local mobile network/country.
As an alternative, the local MLC System can use the Mobile Arts Global GNSS Reference Data Feed service. This hosted and managed service can provide GNSS reference data to Mobile Arts MLC systems globally over a secure remote internet connection.
